Dr. Antonio Moretti is a Research Leader at ISPA (Institute of Sciences of Food Production) – CNR (National Council of Research), Bari, Italy. He specializes in epidemiology and morphological and molecular taxonomy of mycotoxin-producing Fusarium species associated with numerous economically important food and feed crops. He has been significantly involved in a number of European Union (EU) funded projects serving as a support work package leader in “MYCORED” from 2009 to 2014 and research lead of a work package in the “Integrated and innovative key actions for mycotoxin management in the food and feed chain “MycoKey”, a Horizon 2020 EU project (2016 to present). He has also been responsible for bilateral and other research projects aimed at increasing the knowledge and expertise on mycotoxins in developing countries. He serves as a steering committee member of MYTOX-SOUTH, an intercontinental partnership striving to solve mycotoxin problems. Dr Moretti has published more than 70 peer-reviewed articles (H-factor = 46) and a number of book chapters.
